Background of the Study
Government incentives for tourism businesses are a crucial factor in fostering the growth and sustainability of the tourism industry. In many regions, including Kaduna State, the government provides various forms of support such as tax breaks, subsidies, and grants to encourage investment and innovation in the tourism sector. These incentives are aimed at boosting local tourism infrastructure, creating jobs, and promoting the state as a tourist destination. Kaduna, a city known for its cultural heritage and historical sites, has a tourism sector that can benefit significantly from strategic government support.
Kaduna State is rich in cultural and historical attractions that have the potential to draw both domestic and international tourists. However, despite these attractions, the local tourism businesses have not reached their full potential due to various constraints, including limited funding and infrastructure. Government incentives play a vital role in bridging this gap by providing businesses with the necessary resources to expand and improve services. This study will examine the types of government incentives available to tourism businesses in Kaduna State, evaluate their effectiveness, and suggest ways to improve these incentives for greater impact.
